Originally from India, Susan moved to New Zealand to complete her Master’s in Earthquake Engineering at the University of Canterbury. Since then, she has gained valuable experience living and working in Christchurch, Blenheim, and South Auckland, and is now based in West Auckland.
Susan joined Markplan, drawn by its strong team culture and clear opportunities for professional development. She brings experience to the team by combining technical expertise with a creative approach to structural design. Passionate about the intersection of engineering, architecture, and landscape, Susan is driven by a desire to create safe, resilient, and visually engaging spaces that enhance everyday life.
Prior to her engineering career, Susan explored a range of creative interests in the arts and sports, that reflect a curiosity and expressiveness which continue to influence her work today. Outside the office, she enjoys discovering new places with her husband, an audio engineer who brings music and flavour into their life. Together, they embrace the natural beauty, diversity, and community spirit that West Auckland has to offer!
