BE (Civil) Hons, MEngNZ
Ryan was born in Sydney, Australia, but moved to New Zealand at the age of two and grew up on Auckland’s North Shore, where he attended school and has lived ever since. Having always been curious about how things worked and why things are the way they are, he enrolled in engineering at the University of Auckland, graduating with an honours degree in Civil Engineering. During his studies, developed a strong interest in structural engineering and in his final year he gained invaluable work experience as a student engineer with Markplan. The following year Ryan happily accepted a full-time position with Markplan. Ryan believes that Markplan, with its great learning environment and wealth of experience, is an ideal place to grow as a professional structural/civil engineer. He enjoys the wide range of projects Markplan is involved in.
Ryan is a keen sportsman who enjoys following and participating in all kinds of sports. He started playing hockey at a young age and currently plays for North Shore United, where he loves the challenge of playing against some of the country’s top players. When not at the hockey turf Ryan enjoys listening to music, attending concerts, cooking and tasting different foods, and during the summer spending time at his family’s holiday home in Wanaka. When he has the chance he enjoys exploring different parts of the world. His most recent trips have been to Vietnam, the USA, Europe, Peru and Japan.
