Originally from Auckland, Sam spent four years in Christchurch for university before returning home to begin his career at Markplan as a member of the engineering team. Although Sam was no stranger to Markplan on his first day! He had completed an internship at Markplan, during university, where he gained valuable experience and quickly felt at home with the team.
Sam is passionate about structural engineering because it allows him to tackle complex problems and design solutions that make a real impact. He’s eager to expand his knowledge of civil and structural engineering and has aspirations to work overseas in the future.
Outside of work, Sam has no shortage of outdoor interests including mountain biking, skiing, windsurfing, and playing golf. He also plays social football and enjoys fishing. He lives close to friends, the harbour for water sports, and nearby golf courses and trails, making it easy to get outdoors after work and on weekends to ensure a good work-life balance!
