GRADUATE ENGINEER

Structural Engineer  OR  Civil/Structural All-Rounder

Markplan is looking for a Graduate Engineer who is curious, practical and ready to learn. This opportunity could suit a graduate focused on structural engineering, or someone who wants to develop across both civil and structural engineering in an integrated consultancy.

You will join a stable, reputable practice with a clear strategy for growth, working alongside people who share knowledge, communicate openly and take pride in delivering practical, buildable solutions for clients and communities. The role is a full-time position in our Auckland office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Contributing to a varied mix of residential, commercial and community projects.
  • Developing practical engineering solutions with guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Building capability in design, calculations, documentation, site observation and client communication.
  • Working collaboratively across structural and civil disciplines where the project calls for it.
  • Learning from project reviews, feedback sessions and real project experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • A BE(Hons), BE or equivalent recognised engineering qualification, completed or nearing completion.
  • A genuine interest in structural engineering, civil engineering, or developing across both disciplines.
  • Clear communication, a positive client focus and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
  • Care, attention to detail and a commitment to professional and technical standards.
  • A practical, solution-focused mindset and the confidence to contribute as part of a team.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
