Principal Engineer

Originally from Wellington, Callum is a Chartered Professional Engineer with 11 years of consulting experience spanning civil infrastructure, seismic assessment and strengthening, and residential design and alterations. After studying at the University of Canterbury and working in Wellington for six years, he and his family made the move south to Wānaka.
Engineering has always been in Callum's blood. Inspired by his father, a civil engineer and University of Canterbury graduate, and his grandfather, who owned a steel fabrication workshop, he knew from an early age that he wanted to follow a similar path. Since then, he has built a career around practical problem-solving, strong client relationships and a genuine passion for continuous growth and learning.
Callum joined Markplan for its positive team culture, the opportunity to take on new challenges, and the chance to lead and grow the Wānaka team while helping expand Markplan's presence and client base throughout the region.
An avid outdoorsman, Callum enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking and backcountry hunting, and is often training for his next mission. He and his wife Tash are raising their two young children in what they see as the ultimate playground for adventure, and he enjoys introducing them to the outdoor pursuits and experiences that have shaped so much of his own life.
