Mikayla hails from Auckland and began her Engineering career working on the City Rail Link Project for 2 ½ years. However, before starting her first engineering job, Mikayla moved to Belgium to work for a Showjumping Yard for 3 months where she was riding horses that were being sold to people from around Europe and America, and she even got to ride a horse that is expected to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, Covid put a spanner in the works and she had to return to New Zealand.
Mikayla joined Markplan in July 2022, seeking a better work-life balance while also gaining experience working as a Structural Engineer. She feels very privileged to have a job working in such an awesome field of work where no two days are the same as you are thrown new challenges and problems that need solving, all while working either outside on site or in the office.
In Mikayla’s spare time she enjoys spending time working with her two horses, playing netball, snow and water skiing, and going to the gym (when possible).
Mikayla might make you feel tired with this busy life but at Markplan we are all very skilled at keeping multiple plates spinning! We are delighted to have another energetic member join the Markplan Team.
